# Status (https://condensate.dev/status/)

> What works today, what you set up, and how to get access.

Condensate is pre-release. The runtime is one server on one Mac. It has run Claude Code on a Claude Max plan, Codex on ChatGPT Pro and Team plans, and Condensate's own agent on a ChatGPT Team plan. Other plans are not proven yet.

## What works today

- **A task moves to the next account when one reaches its usage limit.** It skips tool calls that already ran. Out-of-quota and login failures are recognized for all three agents.
- **Each workspace spends only its own accounts.** A request to spend an account outside the workspace is refused, with the reason. Your scripts can use the same accounts through an OpenAI-compatible endpoint, under the same rules.
- **By default, agents hold placeholders, not your logins.** The credential proxy is on by default, and the runtime refuses to start without it unless you set `CONDENSATE_PROXY=off`. See [Security](https://condensate.dev/security/).
- **Session steering is on by default.** It needs the middleware's key file. Without one, the runtime logs that steering is off and runs agents without it. A holdout share of sessions you set is never steered, so you can measure whether steering helps.
- **The hook policy fails closed.** If the middleware cannot answer, prompts and tool calls are denied with the reason.
- **A builder and a reviewer share one pull request.** Claude can build and Codex can review in one review room, with a cap on rounds. Each verdict is pinned to the commit it reviewed.
- **Your phone rings when an agent needs you.** The iPhone app shows a Live Activity, and a tap opens the thread.
- **Claude accounts are paced.** Work is spread across them so one account does not run dry early. Pacing covers Claude accounts only.

## What you set up yourself

- **Code mode is opt-in.** It stays off until you add who may use it to an allowlist.
- **The iPhone app is installed by hand.** It is not on the App Store.
- **The SDK ships with early access.** It is not published on npm.

## How access works

You need an invitation, because the source repository is private and the setup guide needs it.
